About this directory

Utah Fabric Stores is a hand-kept list of the fabric stores and quilt shops you can actually walk into in Utah — 58 of them, across 18 counties and 40 cities.

It exists because there was no good answer to a simple question: if I'm in Logan on a Tuesday, where do I go? Search results are full of shops that closed years ago, and nothing tells you which ones run classes or do longarm work.

Who maintains it

Utah Fabric Stores is independently maintained by Clint. Store owners do not pay for listings or rankings. The editorial policy explains how facts are checked, how descriptions are written, and how unverified information is handled.

How listings get checked

Every shop here is a real storefront with a door you can open. No shop submits its own listing, and nobody can pay to be included or to rank higher.

Each shop page shows when its details were last checked, so you can judge how current the information is. Of the 58 listings, 55 have been confirmed against the shop's own website or another first-party source. The remaining 3 have been checked against current local reporting or business organizations. Call before making a long drive because small-business hours can change quickly.

What we leave out

When a shop closes, we take it down rather than leave it sitting there to disappoint someone. JOANN and Bennion Crafts both came off this list when they shut, and we'd rather have a shorter list than send you to a locked door.

We also leave out the big-box craft chains. You don't need a directory to find those, and every shop listed here is independent — someone's own business, with a person behind the counter who knows what they're selling.

Corrections are welcome

If a shop has moved, changed its hours, closed, or is missing altogether, we'd love to hear about it — especially from the people who work in these shops. Corrections are the most useful thing anyone can send, and they keep this list worth trusting.
