What the historical record does show
County newsletters preserve useful local quilting history. Earlier issues described quilting at the Manila senior center, quilt raffles connected with community events, and a Flaming Gorge Quilt Retreat at Red Canyon Lodge. A March 2009 newsletter called that year’s gathering the third retreat. None of those archived notices provides a current contact or 2026 date, so this guide does not present them as active programs.
The Utah senior-center directory currently marks the Old Timers Senior Center in Manila as temporarily closed. Do not arrive expecting the quilting schedule shown in an old newsletter; confirm any new community activity through a current local organizer first.
Where to shop or meet other quilters
For verified quilt shops and guilds in the wider region, start with Uintah County and Duchesne County. Vernal is the most useful larger shopping center from Manila, but road conditions and store hours matter on a long trip. The Daggett County guide explains the county picture, while the Utah guild directory lists currently verified chapters.
