Cedar Chest Quilters' Guild

Cedar Chest Quilters’ Guild is one of Utah’s more active rural guilds. The 2026 Utah Quilt Guild chapter directory lists meetings at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Cedar City Senior Center, 489 E. 200 South. The guild’s current website confirms the location and welcomes quilters of all experience levels.

Weekly learning and service

The guild advertises monthly classes, workshops, block-of-the-month projects, and humanitarian work. Its website also describes year-round collection of hygiene supplies for local organizations and highlights support for Cedar City Police’s Shop With a Cop program.

In 2026, members took on an unusually ambitious service project: making a quilt for every baby born at Cedar City Hospital during the America 250 year. Iron County Today reported an initial delivery of 18 quilts in December 2025 and said the project could require 800 to 900 quilts. The guild invited fabric donations and volunteer help.

A retreat that draws hundreds

The annual Cedar Chest retreat is a regional event, not just an extended guild meeting. Cedar City’s official 2026 calendar listed the retreat for February 4-7 at the Heritage Center, with registration options from $35 to $90. Local arts reporting describes more than 300 participants and three days of classes.

The retreat page changes as registration opens and closes, so use the guild’s own site for the next dates rather than assuming the prior year’s schedule.

Public fall quilt show

During the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival, the guild fills the Heritage Center lobby with about 100 quilts. The organizer describes traditional and modern work, hand and machine quilting, and sizes ranging from king quilts to table runners and wall hangings. The 2026 show is scheduled for October 23 and 24.
