YLI Retreat Center

The retreat center attached to Fab Fabrics in St. George works differently from the others on this list. There are no beds — it’s four rooms you can book for the day, with space to lay out sewing machines, embroidery machines, fabric and thread.

That suits a different sort of gathering. A guild sew day, a group who all live locally, a class, or a few friends who want somewhere better than a kitchen table for a Saturday — without anyone paying for a bed they’d only use for six hours.

Older public information describes the rooms as free to reserve, but we have not been able to confirm the current terms directly. Ask about availability, fees, capacity, hours, food rules, and equipment before organizing a group around the space.

Having a fabric and thread shop on the same site is the practical advantage. Running short mid-project means walking to the next room.

This sits in the most fabric-dense corner of southern Utah: St. George has five shops, the Dixie Quilt Guild has around 300 members, and Clover Patch is ten minutes away in Santa Clara with thousands of bolts, classes, and quilt-finishing services.
