Quilting in Kanab, Utah

Kanab is Kane County’s quilting center. The city has two active guilds with complementary schedules and hosted a five-day quilt retreat in 2026. It does not currently have a verified dedicated quilt fabric storefront.

Choosing a Kanab guild

Raising Kane Quilters meets at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday in the Pinyon Room at the Kanab Center, 20 N. 100 East. This is the simpler monthly option for quilters who prefer a morning meeting in central Kanab.

Canyon Country Quilt Guild meets at the Kane County Active Living Center, 172 E. 100 North. Its second-Wednesday schedule includes an 11 a.m. meeting and open sewing from noon to 4 p.m.; the fourth-Wednesday session runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The county lists $20 annual membership and welcomes people who want to learn quilting.

Both schedules should be confirmed before a first visit. Raising Kane Quilters does not publish its own calendar, while the county directs Canyon Country members to the current Active Living Center newsletter for updates.

Kanab Quilt Retreat

The 2026 Kanab Quilt Retreat brought quilters to the Kanab Center from August 11 through 15 for open project time, optional classes, dedicated sewing space, shared cutting and pressing stations, and several included meals. Lodging was separate from registration.

The 2026 dates and $350-to-$400 pricing have passed. See the organizer through the Utah quilt events calendar for future announcements rather than assuming the next edition will use the same week or fee.

Exhibits and fabric shopping

Kane County Fair in Orderville accepts hand-quilted, machine-quilted, tied, and other quilts in junior and senior Home Arts divisions. The Kane County guide summarizes the exhibit program and connects Kanab with shopping options outside the county.
