Quilting in Carbon County

Carbon County does not currently have a verified dedicated quilt shop, but it does have an active quilting community centered in Price. Castle Country Quilters offers two monthly meeting times, presents a recurring county-fair quilt show, and participates in public projects that make local quilting visible beyond guild meetings.

Castle Country Quilters

Castle Country Quilters meets at the Carbon County Senior Center. The Utah Quilt Guild’s 2026 directory lists an evening meeting at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday and a daytime meeting at 10 a.m. on the third Thursday.

The directory uses 418 S. Fairgrounds Way. Other current government directories use 450 S. Fairgrounds Road for the senior-center and fairgrounds complex, so first-time visitors should confirm the room and navigation address. The guild does not publish a current public program calendar.

Castle Country Quilters Quilt Show

The guild’s public quilt show is a recurring part of the Carbon County Fair. The latest detailed county schedule placed the display in the Carbon County Event Center on Friday and Saturday, alongside open-class and 4-H exhibits. The 2027 fair is scheduled for June 3 through 5, but quilt-show hours have not yet been announced.

In June and July 2026, the guild also partnered with the Price City Downtown District on a patriotic quilt walk and auction. Twenty-five Price businesses displayed quilts, with some auction proceeds supporting American Legion Post 3. Because the project was connected to America’s 250th anniversary, this guide treats it as evidence of current guild activity rather than an annual event.

Buying fabric in Carbon County

No Carbon County business currently meets this directory’s standard for a dedicated quilt or fabric shop. Mrs. Guppy’s Fabric & Crafts and a Price business called Fabric Frenzy appear in old directories, but neither has enough current local evidence to be presented as an active storefront.

The Price Walmart fabric counter at 255 S. Highway 55 advertises cut fabric, quilting cotton, precuts, fleece, trims, and craft supplies. It can be useful for basic or urgent purchases, but it is not a specialty quilt shop and local inventory changes. Call before driving for a particular fabric.
