Quilting in Piute County

Piute County does not currently have a verified dedicated quilt shop or public quilt guild chapter. Its strongest current quilting connection is the county-fair system, where young makers can prepare textile projects through Utah 4-H.

Piute County Fair and 4-H quilting

Utah State University Extension’s current county-fair schedule and judging resources list the 2026 Piute County Fair for July 27 through August 1. The same official resource provides judging categories for quilting, tied quilting, sewing construction, and fabric crafts.

Those statewide categories establish a real path for 4-H textile projects, but they do not replace local entry instructions. A current Piute-specific fairbook with quilt intake times and local divisions was not available online during this review. Contact the county Extension office through USU for eligibility, registration, deadlines, and drop-off instructions before making an entry.

The county government’s fair page still displays 2015 Butch Cassidy Days information. It is useful background, not a 2026 schedule, and this guide does not repeat its old times as current facts.
