Fabric and quilting shops in Wasatch County

Wasatch County supports quilters through a retreat, a specialty online shop, two guilds, and several public exhibits. Resources are distributed across Heber City, Midway, and Wallsburg, and each serves a different purpose.

Retreats, classes, and limited fabric in Heber City

Mountain MERMade is a dedicated quilt retreat inside a restored 1905 Main Street home. It has eight powered sewing stations, cutting tables, ironing areas, design walls, three shared bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen. Public offerings include sew days, overnight sessions, private group retreats, and beginner or project classes.

The permanent fabric and gift boutique is still labeled “coming soon.” A limited pop-up fabric shop was active in 2026, but regular retail hours are not published. Call before making a shopping-only trip.

Online wool and handwork supplies

Midway Wool sells hand-dyed wool, precut wool shapes, appliqué and punch-needle kits, patterns, thread, and notions online. It also runs online classes, blocks of the month, tutorials, and stitch-alongs. No walk-in storefront is published, so order online or contact the business before requesting local pickup.

Two Wasatch County guilds

Heber Valley Quilters meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday at the Wasatch County Library. Its program includes technique lessons, Sew and Tell, challenges, service work, and an annual retreat.

Midway Quilt Guild meets at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday at the Midway Community Center. It has no public program calendar, but current reporting confirms active collaboration with neighboring guilds.

The two groups joined Kamas quilters in 2026 to make about 700 patriotic baby quilts for births at the Heber Valley and Park City hospitals. The Wasatch County Library displayed the project from June 29 through July 31.

Wallsburg July Quilt Fair

Utah Valley Quilt Guild’s July Quilt Fair is a free public event at the Red Barn in Wallsburg. The 2026 program included a quilt show, four free classes, vendors, a sale with fabric and notions, a silent auction, bake sale, and door prizes. Wasatch County Fair Days exhibits

Fair Days provides another recurring place to display quilts in Heber City. The 2026 fair ran July 23 through August 1 and accepted quilts alongside food preservation, crochet, gardening, photography, jewelry, and other creative work.
