Quilting in Summit County

Summit County does not currently have a verified dedicated quilt shop, but local quilters are not without community or supplies. The county has an active guild in the Kamas Valley, a substantial annual quilt exhibition in Coalville, and basic fabric options in Park City.

Kamas Valley Quilters

Kamas Valley Quilters meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday. Utah Quilt Guild’s 2026 chapter directory places the meeting at a private home in Marion, near Kamas. Because this is not a public venue and the guild does not publish its own calendar, prospective visitors should confirm before attending.

The group’s community-service work is publicly documented. Kamas quilters joined the Heber Valley and Midway guilds in 2026 to make roughly 700 patriotic baby quilts for families at the Heber Valley and Park City hospitals.

Summit County Fair quilt exhibits

The annual Summit County Fair Home Arts exhibition at the Ledges Event Center in Coalville has a dedicated quilt class. Its 2026 rules listed more than 20 divisions, including crib and child quilts, hand- and machine-pieced work, appliqué, tied and puff quilts, hand and machine quilting, wall hangings, holiday quilts, and mixed techniques.

The 2026 display was open August 6 through 8, with entries accepted August 4. Entries are restricted to current Summit County residents, and work generally must have been completed within the preceding year. Consult the current rules before preparing a future entry because dates, categories, and handling instructions can change.

Fabric and fiber shopping

No current independent quilt or fabric shop in Summit County meets this directory’s verification standard. Davidene’s Quilt Shop once operated in Coalville and later near Park City, but the public evidence is historical and a current map listing marks it closed. It is not presented here as an active store.

For a basic same-day need, Walmart’s official Park City fabric page advertises by-the-yard cutting, elastics, trims, and craft supplies at 6545 Landmark Drive. Call ahead when a particular fiber content, color, or yardage matters; this is a general retailer, not a quilt shop with a curated quilting inventory.

Wasatch and Wool in Park City is a verified specialty yarn shop with knitting and crochet supplies, classes, and recurring social stitching. It is useful for fiber artists, but it does not claim to be a quilting-cotton source.
